5 Must-Reads in 2024!

A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.

- George R.R. Martin

Here’s my take on people who don’t read – they’re living in the shadow, or protection, of those who do. Knowledge is power. More specifically, knowledge is empowering.

My suggestion when it comes to reading self-help books; embrace audio. Listen while on your walks or runs or driving down the road. The hardest part about reading is figuring out what to read. There’s like ten million books out there on self-help! And many of them are full of shit.

So, to help you out, I created a list of books I’ve read and found profoundly useful. Here’s five of them to get you started.

Whether audible or printed copy, doesn’t matter. Go for the content!

  • Finding Ultra by Rich Roll. This book literally saved my life. It focuses on plant-based nutrition, but it is so much more! I love Rich’s podcast as well. One of these days, I hope to be on Rich’s podcast just so I can express how much his book changed my life.

  • The Power of One More by Ed Mylett. If you seek guidance reaching a next-level mindset, this book is for you. Ed Mylett is an icon in the world of self-help. I purchased the audio book, which Ed narrates himself, and it was terrific!

  • Green Lights by Matthew McConaughey. I recommend the audio version of this book since Matthew narrates it himself. Matthew’s guidance on spotting the opportunities in life, the “green lights”, is priceless and it’s awesome listening to Matthew McConaughey tell it!

  • How Not to Die by Michael Greger, M.D. I believe in the efficacy of a plant-based diet. Dr. Greger lays it out with science backed information that is easy to consume. He doesn’t drown you in a bunch of scientific crap. Again, I purchased the audio – Dr. Greger narrates it himself.

  • Living with a SEAL by Jesse Itzler. I’m partial to Jesse Itzler since I spent a weekend with him at Ice Camp last year. In this book, Jesse invited David Goggins into his home as Jesse’s personal live-in trainer for 30 days. Such a fun story and I learned a ton about training! I purchased the audio which Jesse narrates himself.

That’s it! Find a cozy spot, or a great park bench outside, and get started! You won’t regret it.

Never stop learning!

Your effort, your choice, your life!
