Sometimes, you just have to start

“Denial is the ultimate comfort zone.” – David Goggins

Some excuses to be lazy:

·      I’m tired.

·      I’m too busy.

·      I’m too old.

·      I just don’t feel it today.

·      Something hurts.

·      I don’t feel well.

·      I need some “me” time.

·      I deserve a break.

·      I want some time to relax.

·      Don’t tell me what I should or should not be doing.

·      I’m not making progress so what’s the use.

And the list goes on and on. We believe what we want to believe so we can do what we want to do.

Last week sucked for me. My motivation tanked. I considered taking this week off. It’s Thanksgiving week! Besides, I have a foot injury. I’ve worked my ass off this year. Maybe I’ll just take the rest of the year off. Then I can heal, enjoy some relax time, maybe even catch up on some TV shows. I’m in my fifties, damn it, cut me some slack!

Ah, the crap we tell ourselves.

Piss on that.

This post’s photo is me two days ago - Monday morning at the Y.

No excuses. Sometimes, you just have to start!

Your effort, your choice, your life!
